As of late... I've been wearing one too many boyfriend blazers, studded loafers, and feathers. Lets not forget the painted lips. Who better to relate to than Sheila Marquez. In addition to Bowie on repeat for days, Ziggy Stardust and Soul Love is magically stimulating to the ears. Which led me to ripping up a basic tee and splashing a coat with his famous lyrics. I'm not gonna lie, 90% of my daily wardrobe is black, black, and black. Some say it's too much; but it's the classiest look in the book, goes perfect with anything, and works for both day & night ensembles. Which leads me to A. Wang's Fall 2010 collection - simplicity at its best. Tailored trousers, layers, and booties never looked so good. I recon that the model above could use a better hair-do but Wang's signature shag is just about as messy. On another note, I've managed to get through this whole week with the help of the local starbucks crew, those caramel creme brulee latte's do help keep the mind awake.
Sleep deprivation comes with side effects; the inability to shop after a 12 hr day.

Oh if there we're a Santa... Those would be 1st on my wish list. Speaking of, the holiday season is much appreciated for what it's consist of so far; birthday month, gingerbread lattes, casual outings, themed parties, layered clothing, westho shows left & right, family time, constantly shopping, and bombarded with school. Like these autumn leaves I don't have nothing to hold - The lovely photos above is from a shoot I did the makeup for on collaboration with Kristen, Lindsey, & Lani Dre(i'm sure you've seen her on American Apparel ads & billboards). The turnout was beautiful; the tall wheat fields, flowers, and hills we're staring us with that orange-brown hue of colors, teasing us for fall considering this weather is deranged. Global warming is stealing us from my favorite season. Although, I might add the nights are rather chilly that I need a layer of cardigans or jackets when I step out. I just wish the climate could be on my side & stay overcast all day, everyday.

I apologize for the lack of updates on here that I've yet to post daily, there's barely enough time in a day.

Yesterday was the beginning front to sense chills from the breeze. I cheered on the street of LaBrea when felt, considering I was digging through piles of clothes and upon came this ambush of wind picking up the flow of my dress. It's here and it's here to stay. Fall is my favorite season and I need more where that came from. My brother thinks that I'm this punk turned british muse because I puncture studs into my daily outfits, not to mention the pins I rep on my sleeves. Like they say, satisfaction is guaranteed. Also, the perks of having friends in SF to sleep on their floor comes in handy considering Treasure Island is in 2 weeks and I've nearly decided to purchase tickets. RANT: In all resentment when saying this but having newbies approach Sharpe is an utter annoyance by thought, "Home" is officially overplayed / a sellout song. On a lighter note, here is a

I have my own mind ticking bomb or shall I say clock tapping away 'til Fall draws near. I'm anxiously waiting for my hair to blow in the wind, those orange pastel leaves to hit the ground, the temperature rate to drop below 70, and to wake up with the ray of overcast hovering through my window seel. I've been more than stoked for the wardrobe itself. Anything sheer, pure silk, leather, dark toned, faux fur, fringe, denim, lace, bold prints, mesh, and chains of steel has been the reason my wallet goes empty. Work work work, play play play... which as of late, I barely have time to play considering I didn't have summer vacay nor time to sit back and relax. Therefore, a new season equals new horizons and more play.

Last month, the FAMILY event took place at Space1520 where Lauren Dukoff proclaimed the release of her book full of her prodigious, beautiful, music provoked photography. If you're a fan of Devendra Banhart, Little Joy, Joanna Newsom, Bats for Lashes, Vetiver, etc; this is definately worth scoping out. It's whole feel of the pages is warm and mysterious. I was lucky enough to purchase the book from Lauren, herself, with a signature. Although I left with regret and disapointment in myself, me being tempted yet too shy to approach Banhart, the slur of my words would've made me look like a complete fool... therefore, I dazed and sang along to his acoustic performance hoping to be remembered by the girl with the feather in her hair.

This past weekend was spent in the desert, Palm Springs. Road trips and fancy suites is superb for a summer adventure.
Karla & I took advantage of the fact that our hotel service had free happy hour with unlimited drinks. Mandarin sours + margaritas in the sun has an easy buzz effect, therefore, we we're having the time of our lives. Brian Jonestown Massacre flowing through the speakers; raw, dirty, and grungy 90s rock. We danced in the dirt, it was sublime. We stumbled upon a thrift mart where the clothes weren't anything to preach about but the book section was taken upon us, tons of old literature with notes left in the pages and other fascinating kicks. Being that there's native indians living out towards the desert, there was tons of beautiful feathered jewelry marked down at ridiculous prices so I snagged a few. A highlight was also getting pulled over but not getting a ticket, amen! 2 days felt like eternity in the wild. We missed the LA breeze, considering
it's so deadly hot out (people only come out at night). It was a much needed relaxing weekend.

In the vicinity of growing tired of all the white noise people create. I'll make my fucking own. Matter of fact, this previous month I realized how much I love my alone time, however, hate being alone.
Its been a month or two since I've really been 'alone' and it suites me better. I have days where I leave my cell phone at home and have no connection to the web whatsoever. Thoughts draw out better & I find myself livin' in a dreamworld. People are more righteous alone. We become more connected in what we are thinking and doing. Were calm and collected. Were confident and more welcoming.
We naturally don't try to impress anyone, and end up impressing ourselves. I noticed that when I'm alone, I'm bleak and unfazed. I engage in conversations with people and smile more. I guess for
the first time in a long time, I don't feel so damn 21st century.

The clouds are gone, amorous for the sun. Although, in SoCal we are in denial to 90 degree weather; therefore, when it's here for the sake of multiple days, we tend to lose our minds. This previous weekend was hands down, the greatest. Words cannot epitomize deserted land and high top views. I do believe I got a shade darker, in addition to my sandals leaving me a ridiculous tan-line to flaunt. I'm back in action with summer skin. Theatre finals is this week and I just started studying for a multiple hundred question test plus model application. Fml. Mind over matter; I will outshine them all and celebrate, repeatedly encore, this weekend at LA's Finest with mes amours.

Incitement is one word to describe these past couple of days, e.i. getting paid to do makeup in vegas for the first weekend of April, meeting and conversating with Katie Holmes, new spring wear, gossip girl, themed parties, uv overload, fabric diy's, and love bites. You think you know but you have no idea. Reality hit me hard, I find that in this time of my life, young and successful, I should be receptive and untamed. It's proven, I can be an utter amount of creativity without equal. Yes, I'm feeling a bit like a cynic but it just amazes me how the increase of progression and edge is the consistent theme in my designs. Images won't be posted, because people don't read enough, and by me giving you visual it's almost as if I'm promoting this ignorance.

busy with school; writing scripts, performing arts, and of course doing insane prosthetics makeup. Im not gonna lie, I love every second of it. I've had my share in great experiences but being an artist defines me and what I do, and nothing is more equivalent than working it out for broadway. Inspiration.

For the inquisitive motherfuckers; I've been impregnated with a new concept, "On the third day I rise." It's made sense on account of this past week I've been out & about everyday thus relaxed on the other two. Not to mention a last minute visit to the heist and ever so pre-gaming it before with beer and chasers. On the following morning; katrina & I went to lacma for art and tacos, in consequence of the fact that it was free considering keith offered, followed with a night of good company at joyrich aka mature crowd and utterance. The rest of the weekend dwelled with thrifting, spiffy dinners, studying for my midterm this Tuesday, and watching the superbowl with the guys.

In completion to that, I've come to conclusion further being a makeup artist is open access for goodies. In my hands is the contemporary hello kitty line from MAC which doesn't hit the stands until 2 weeks from now, however, I'm in possession of the entire set. Kudos for me.

Btw, does anyone else think thee LV spring collection was done beautifully? I'm utterly infatuated with those high heeled kicks & touched how they used a song by Edith Piaf on the catwalk.

Pinpoint on my up-to-date enterprise. Hence my busy schedule, I've done nothing but broadening
my horizons, flea markets, journalism, observing culture at its highs and lows, politics, train trips, questioning the things that surround me, stepping out of my comfort zone, practicing lucid dreaming, debate, eating out, creativity by any means, theater (and theatre), social gatherings with obscure themes, and anything that lays between. Under 'social gatherings' was making a withdrawal and heading to the Jap motors/Growlers show at the echo on Friday. Richy, Sergio, & I went for the $8 surf harmony. The crowd wasn't too pleasing, a lot of annoying adolescent oc clan. I mean, who moshes to Jap motors? Exactly. All in all, it was worth the 8 bucks and sing alongs. Saturday involved notorious, mani/pedi, shoe porn, italian din din, driving around, drinks drinks drinks, good company, drunk slogans, and jack black haha. Slept on jaq's sofa for 3 hours til the sunrise came up and decided I'd rather sleep in my bed. Dream't about Jared Gorbel and honey. I'm more

What I'm all about.

I've spent a good portion of my enlightened Angeleno years searching for just the right balance of an adept lifestyle. I hate to pull the astrology card (or tarot card. What?), but I am a Scorpio. I'm drawn to extremes and opposites and am contradictory sometimes. But at this time, I seem to be in a groove. An ambidextrous, lefty-righty-brainy groove, per say. What I'm getting at is: I've found the proportion, I found what makes me happy. And to top it off, Last night was beautiful. Singing along to the Walkmen melodies & sneaking our whiskey inside. It was a classy delight. Rose McGowan was in the audience as well, she looked stunning. I bought a shirt that I'm already wearing proudly. No excursions for me tonight; tomorrow should be good, Chromeo afterparty at the Roxy.

With outings every night and social brunches everyday, I finally got to relax on Sunday. I ran
into a lot of familiar faces last night, all under the same roof. Nonetheless, I slept in today and caught up with my substantial substances. After I had done all that had to be done, I drove down to Borders for some literature and treatise. Picked up the following: The Beautiful Fall, Stranger Than Fiction, Cathedral, The Psychic Soviet, and Oh the Glory of It All. I'm nearly satisfied as I stack them on my vanity. Cluster over cluster, but it's a reminder to pick one up before I hit the sheets. Watching Last Tango in Paris, an old romantic, in addition to having cheese & wine is whats in store for me tonight. Praise the dawning, It's just a restless feeling by my side.

Originality is in flutes played by youths, sunsets, and filter lenses in glasses. But love on the other hand, well; love is none of the things that originality is. Love is scientific and filled with logic and thinking. Love is equations, and math problems that have no end or solution. Love is the diameter of your heart and the speed at which hair grows. Love is analog clocks, skewed perspective and manipulated color wheels that will one day exist.

I guess it's time for me to pull out my black lace dress that's been hidden in my closet for about a year now. The black widow is no longer mourning; instead she struts. My next shoe purchase will be (below). They would be great for a spring dressy shoe, nothing like a breeze and fresh nail polish.

Fashion is & will forever be my air, but it seems like I've withdrawn from the idea of it because
of a category I've been labeled under. So have I become a conformist under this rebellious image? Have I went against my idea of self-expression to better feed my disgust of labels? I recently went through a batch of photographs of myself and I've come to realize that I was creating my own garments; and now everything I wear is factory made, so in a sense have I not become like them.

In The Halls I’d Rather Hear Silence Than The Bell Of New Love

I'm tired of the pre-conceived notions I've taken with others. Although, each evening of mine
has been boisterous and unexpected undertaking around the city. Downtown or around, I always find myself spending money on anything eye seeking. I'm in a constant war against my own nature. I haven't found an adjective that quite fits who I am. I always tend to love hard, then disappear without warning, and reappear like there's was no absence and live like this minute is all I have. I like my alone time, but hate being alone. I find challenging books to be a unfettered delight. I'm an aspiring artist, who can't be subjected to one label. I speak with eloquence in my vulgarity.

My creativity is at the peek of its level, After coming eye to eye with these photos that is.

Like I've said in the past, My words aren't just being put on any site possible... I'm constantly writing in my Prada leather journal; clif notes, entries, quotes & lyrics, day experiences, love affairs, viewing the city, etc. As I get older, my eyes witness and experience more. I need more of an ultimatum, something worth publishing. Take me on an adventure that I can portray in my own words while feeling breath-taking.

I don't know if it's the fact that it was a leap year and why people seem to have lept out of their sanity, but I found it to be full of unexpected agitation. I left the year satisfied & full of thinking. My mind boggled up at the countdown with a flash of how I've grown so much in 08. My eyes we're stapled open, A reality check raped me blindly. I couldn't of done it without my supporting family and everlasting friends. All of embarkment, good times, graduation, new faces, new places, breaking hearts, more happiness than melancholy, no attachments, travel, adventures, pain in the ass studying, honor achievements, not driving the speed limit, drama-free, drinking into oblivion, one too many whatshisfaces, still intact with my main girls, best birthday thus far, all left in memory but

I've become more in love with art, all types of art. I like to think anything is my canvas and that I can paint reality thus dreams.
